Formula 5.3 is here

Formula 5.3 has just been released.

This new version is a significant update that bring many new features and improvements.

Features include:

  • A redesigned Formulation Organizer to copy/move Formulations in folders 

The new window offers a cleaner navigation in the different folders and offers the possibility to perform batch tasks such as assigning color tags to several formulation in one action. Other features will be added in the future.

  • A new Raw Material Explorer window displaying all Raw Material properties.

 The Raw Material Explorer allows to see all the Raw Material properties in one single table. Options to show/hide any of the columns is possible as well as reordering and sorting. Formula remembers positions size and show/hide features for ease of use. The Explorer is a separate new window and thus can be set on a second screen to have a visibility on Raw Material Properties while working on Formulation. A small set of filters available but more will come in the neas future.

  • A new built-in tool to import/update Raw Material data and prices from Excel files.

This new features allows to directly import or update both Raw Material Data and Raw Material Prices. A Nomenclature has been added to the Help file for the naming and data Format of the Excel columns. A simulation can be performed to check the modification before properly updating/importing the data and a report in txt format is created allong the process.

  • New Color tags for Raw Materials as well as the possibility to assign a description to colors.

Color tags are now available for Raw Material (different set from the Formulations) and for an better clarity, it is now possible in the Settings to assign a description for each color tags. This description is visible in the tooltip when hovering the mouse over a color tag..

  • A new tool allows to export Formulations to Excel by batch.

This new features allows to create Formulation Excel export by batch. rather than opening each Formulation individualy and do an export to Excel, the tool allows to define a Folder and select the Formulations that need to be exported.

 

Formula 5.3 also feature many improvements such as a better responsivness of the tab control and new progress bar to keep the user informed when long process are running. A new button to reload the left view has also been added in order be upto date with the server.

 

Formula 5.2 is here

We just released Formula 5.2.

This new version bring a redesign of the interface and color code.

We are are also introducing 2 important features:

  • Chemical tracking: With this tool it is now possible to first create chemical substances and then add quantities for each Raw Material. Quantities can be weight percent or ppm. Calculation of the chemical content can then be made in a Formulation in both units. We have also added the possibility to create preset lists of chemicals in order to specify limits. It opens the possibility to have lists of chemicals with limits for a specific geographic zone or regulation. Finally a tool allows to search for chemical traces in both Raw Materials and Formulations.
  • Ingredient Groups: This new feature provide the possibility to assign ingredients into 1 of the 3 groups available. A new table shows the formulation composition in terms of group content. You can then change the weight or volume of a group in this new table and Formula will recalculate the weight of each ingredient. You can name the groups and see the groups composition by  hovering the mouse on the group. This group system should open new possibilities to formulate with 2K systems but also to keep certain ingredients at the same quantity ratio.

Formula 5.1

We just released a major update for Formula, Version 5.1. It brings many new features, functionalities and improvements. Such as:

  • A new Raw Material Inspector that allows to get a quick overview of a Raw Material properties when hovering the cursor on a Formulation's ingredient.
  • Bar charts for volume and weight percentages of pigments, fillers... have been added in parallel with pie charts in the Formulation Module
  • New Excel export options have been added for Formulations: Essential Print Sheet, a A4 landscape format with main Formulation's information and a Physico-Chemical Properties' sheet.
  • Keyboard shortcuts and controls.
  • We also reworked the access structure with the server to make it more responsive.

Formula 5

After more than 15 years of good service Formula just has just been entirely rebuild with last Microsoft technologies. This new version offers a more evolutive platforme for the future and open new possibilities in terms of development. We will be happy to provide a trial version so don't hesitate to contact us.
